Andre Embiricos, comissioned the lightweight pre-war Derby Bentley that provided much inspiration for the Continental. It is known as the Embiricos Bentley.
Jean Daninos designed the post war Cresta Fastback Bentley that was built by his company Facel Metallon in France, in collaboration with Rolls-Royce. R-R owned the rights to the Cresta name. This was the immediate predecessor of the Continental.

Klementaski, famous motoring photographer hired by R-R to record the development and testing of the Continental.
Briggs Swift Cunningham, well known American sportsman and racer, who is one of the people that bullied R-R into producing the Continental. He used three Continentals at LeMans as support cars for his team. The prototype Corniche II/Continental was the official course car at Lemans in 52, 53, and possibly 54.
Alfred Momo, BS Cunningham crew chief and design engineer who visited R-R and revised the specification for the early Continentals.

Ivar Bryce, co-owned and financed Fleming's Continental. The literary James Bond was based upon the real Bryce.
